Training with Lee

"Hi Lee

Bailey and I did it!  We passed the assessment at Bishop Burton College last week - little monkey did a zoomie but his weaves were perfect (assessor comment) and his contacts were to die for (assessor comment)!  Thank you so much, both were down to your training.   He didn't break his waits - we've worked so hard on the release cue - he never moves from any position in any place until he hears "okay".  Again down to your superb training.  And what better reward could I have than for the assessor to say to me "If you were training agility, Marian, I would certainly come to your classes"?  Gobsmacked!!

Liz and I watched your DVD together and it is fabulous - can't wait for the next one.  The out-takes at the end show how much work you and Gina put into it.

All the best Lee - hope to see you sometime when the weather improves!"

Training Information

Situated in the stunning grounds of the Long Mynd (part of the South Shropshire Hills) and surrounded by National Trust land, LGT offers training in several formats. Private lessons, which are usually an hour, are available during the week and at weekends in the winter and out of the show season. Lessons can be made longer if for example you are wishing to train two or three different dogs. With foundation puppy training or beginner dogs, lessons may be less than an hour.

LGT runs many training days and also extended group training sessions. These are very popular and subject to huge demand, often resulting in long waiting lists. I take great pride in giving a full and enjoyable days training of everyone attending these days. Unlike some agility trainers, I will not overbook and/or put huge numbers of handlers in groups. The smaller groups that I insist on for my training events make for a higher standard of training for all.

The training days are planned thoroughly and I will often specify the grade(s) and levels that the day is aimed towards. These details, along with new events and booking details are on the Training Days page.

I can also carry out training events at other clubs and groups and have travelled to many parts of the UK in the last few years, and have taught at various types of training days, events and extended class sessions. I also have instructed in Belgium and hope to go to more clubs and groups in Europe teaching agility. If your are part of an Agility training group or club from outside the UK, please email me directly if you are interested in my services as at experienced agility trainer.

The facilities at LGT are excellent, with car parking and toilet facilities for everyone to use. There are also many lovely walks to be found in the surrounding areas and many are accessed straight from the training venue itself. There is plenty of room to exercise your dogs at LGT.

The training facilities themselves are all outdoors and consist of the main training area, which has a competition set of equipment on it. There is seating around the entrance and a small training shelter, which is used as storage and as teaching room. There is also a smaller jumping course nearer the car park, which is often used to practice handling various jumping sequences, turns and directional training.

During the longer training days, the ‘Dog Room’ as it is commonly known is used to take coffee and tea breaks and on specialist days such as Bonfire Night training day, food is served in this room.  LGT now has floodlights so is not restricted to training in daylight hours only.
